Are animated GIFs the stuff of junior highschool hijinks or, are they the political cartoons of the new millenium?
As part of the mind the gap strand on WordPress i decided to write and enter this writing challenge for the first time.
GIF: A series of images that create the impression of movement.
As the title asks is this high school fun or political cartoons of the new millennium, for me they are the stuff of high school as anyone in high school can create one and its simply an endless loop of a few seconds of video, a bit of fun really. they can be used to highlight something in a moment but they can be so annoying as it just repeats its self, can be quite useful for a company selling something but they would want to make a statement not just show a 5 seconds what a product can do.
I can remember in school the guys used them for porn, so it was maybe 5 second of footage overĀ and over, so while this will be all well and good in a school for kids experimenting with computers and creation i disagree it should be used after high school, we want a bit more enthusiasm and a bit more thought put into our leaders projections.
How would we feel if the president used GIFs to highlight the war, or the state of the economy, come on we have come along way from when Gifs were created to start using them now, we have more adventurous ways of conveying our messages, leave the GIFS where they belong, on messenger apps and social network sites.
Too funny! President and porn all rolled into one. Thank you for the laugh
thank you so much, its much appreciated, didnt think i would get much attention.
Your humor is refreshing and relatable. Be prepared for more and more interest. Keep on blogging
I agree with the looping being annoying. The standard GIFs should stay in the background. I would prefer the Market Dept find a new trick. However, I just read a post from Fish of Gold (http://fishofgold.wordpress.com/2012/11/26/quest-ce-que-art/) where there is a fresh face on the old GIF. Check it out if you get a change, it is very interestings.
